Three years as data partner to a global retailer
Designed, built, and maintained a production data warehouse for a global retail chain over a three-year direct engagement. Consolidated fragmented reporting into a single source of truth, automated report delivery, and introduced new analytical reports that reshaped how the business made decisions.

What wasn’t working.
The client had accumulated a significant volume of operational data across its business, but very little of it was being put to work. The root cause was structural: there was no integrated data warehouse acting as a single source of truth, and reports were generated inconsistently across teams rather than automatically and reliably from a governed foundation. The business needed three things: a single source of truth — one warehouse every department could trust and pull from; automation and scheduling — reports that generated and delivered themselves, not reports that relied on someone remembering to run them; and new analytical capability — reports that didn't exist yet, but should, to improve how the business made decisions.
How we shipped it.
We took on the full lifecycle — design, build, and multi-year maintenance of the data warehouse — as direct technology partner. The architecture was built around a consolidated reporting layer that enabled reuse across departments, so a metric defined once was consumed everywhere the same way. Existing reports were tested and validated against ground truth before migration, so the business could trust the new estate from day one. Scheduling and automation were layered in so report delivery became hands-off. Because the engagement ran for three years, we weren't just delivering a build — we were maintaining, evolving, and extending the warehouse as the business's analytical needs matured.
In the box at go-live.
- A production data warehouse serving as the single source of truth for business reporting.
- A consolidated reporting layer engineered for reuse — consistent definitions across departments, consistent metrics across reports.
- Automated, scheduled report delivery — removing manual effort and reducing the risk of delayed or missed reporting.
- Validated migration of existing reports through systematic testing against source data, ensuring trust in the new estate from day one.
- New analytical reports that reshaped the client's decisioning process — surfacing insight the previous reporting landscape couldn't produce.
- Three years of ongoing maintenance and evolution as the direct technology partner.
The number.
A unified analytical platform serving five departments off two integrated source systems, with 17 production reports — including new analytical capability the business hadn't had before. A single version of truth established across the business, replacing fragmented reporting. The decisioning process reshaped through reports that surfaced insight the previous reporting landscape couldn't produce. Three years of direct engagement — a measure of the stability, trust, and continuity built into the platform.
